We were looking at going on a hiking and camping trip so we paid a visit to a local outdoor pursuits store and my boyfriend was like a baby in a candy store or Carrie in a shoe store! He spent a lot of his time checking out inflatable boats although I still can’t understand why because we don’t live by the water and we were going hiking up in the hills. I never even knew he liked the water! The best thing about inflatable boats is that you dont need a trailer for them , they are best in the water too and dont require much maintainance. Inflatable boats are actually more resilient then timber ones which will rot if not treated!

A couple of years some mortgage lenders were really making me mad, giving out way too much money to people they know not to be in a position to pay it back. I look at my younger brother and worry for him looking to start a life for himself in the next few years. I don’t think there are too many mortgage lenders willing to give out as much money as they used too. I think the best a lot of people can hope for is a win on the lottery.

I was flicking through the pages of a magazine in my dental surgery this morning when I spotted a rather well known celebrity endorsing diet pills . I was surprised and disheartened on many levels. Firstly, this celebrity surely has enough money already without having to stoop to this. Secondly, she’s setting a bad example to her young fans and thirdly she’s too thin to even consider needing diet pills. Some people have nothing going on in their brains..

I’ve been a bit slow updating my blog this past week because my laptop died. It had served me well and after a long and brave battle, it finally gave up the ghost late last weekend. I’d been putting off the inevitable task of looking at new ones because I figured that it was insensitive to my laptop to be replacing it even before it was gone. When the time came, I took it down to a local electrical recycling centre where it might be reincarnated as a fridge.

My mother has always kept a clean house and has shown great loyalty in her choice of products over the years. She’s always had a soft spot for Electrolux vacuums and I don’t think she’d use anything else. I think this is why she doesn’t ever offer to vacuum at my apartment but she does at my sisters. I used to think it was because she felt my sister wasn’t as tidy or as clean as me but after a visit she paid to me last week when my apartment was in a complete and utter mess, I’m now convinced its because of my vacuum brand…
